Domestic Violence Awareness - Half day workshop

This workshop will give staff from a wide range of agencies the opportunity to, understand the nature and effects of domestic violence, clarify their own and agency role and gain information about domestic violence services. It enables professionals to challenge the myths, stereotypes and social tolerance of domestic violence and abuse, develop an understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, define the types of abuse and abusive behaviours used and the nature of abusive relationships. It assists in the identification of domestic violence and how interventions can be more effective. Finally, it considers the impact of domestic violence and abuse on the violence and abuse to leave abusive relationships.
